Today we started adding music and sound effects to our extract. The most important piece of music we needed was the motif that would accompany the ghost girl/doll to show there presence and create tension engrossing the audience. We drew inspiration mainly from "Hace Mucho, Mucho Tempo" from Pan's Labyrinth > http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8t9tzCUZuWQ&feature=related and "Davy Jones" from Pirates of the Carrabien > http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fur86y7dQJ4&feature=related we found these had a real eery feel and ended up with an off-key music box sound witch really went well. We played a keyboard on the musicbox setting and simply recorded it. We then moved onto creating the childrens playground scene, to once again create tension we drew inspiration from Nightmare on Elm Street > http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eXG6_XxL8JQ&feature=related and slowed down the children singing by extracting the sound. We added a voice over which we simply got Coral to read her script while we recorded it onto the mac. Finally we added sound effects e.g. a long low pitched noise that suggests something is wrong throughout the extract and at the beginning we used an upbeat track that is quickly juxtaposed by the playground scene.
